What makes a review request work

Send it soon

Within a few hours for texts and within a day for emails. The longer you wait, the less likely a customer is to respond.

Make it personal

Use the customer's first name and sign with a real person's name. It reads like a note, not a marketing blast.

One tap to the form

Link straight to your Google review form so nobody has to search for you. Get it from the review link generator.

Ask everyone the same way

No "if you loved us" conditions and no rewards. Google's policy rules out both, and honest reviews from everyone are more convincing anyway.

Frequently asked questions

What should a review request message say?

Keep it short: thank the customer by name, ask for an honest Google review, include a direct link, and sign off with a real person's name. Ask every customer the same way. Don't ask only the customers you think were happy, and don't offer anything in return.

When should I send a review request?

Within a day of the visit or job, while the experience is fresh. Text messages work best within a few hours; emails the same day or the next morning. If there's no response, one or two reminders a few days apart are plenty.

Is it legal to text customers asking for a review?

In the US, get the customer's permission to text them first, identify your business in the message, include an opt-out like "Reply STOP to opt out", and stop texting anyone who opts out. The generated texts include an opt-out line for that reason.

Can I offer a discount for leaving a review?

No. Google prohibits incentives in exchange for reviews, and the FTC's rule on consumer reviews also restricts incentives tied to positive reviews. These templates never include an offer.

Why don't these templates say "if you were happy, leave us a review"?

Because asking only satisfied customers is review gating, which Google's policy doesn't allow. Every template here asks every customer for their honest experience, whatever it was.

Is this generator free?
